Huntsville Police have released the name and picture of the man charged in the killing of a 91-year-old woman.
Police arrested 27-year-old John Clayton Owens, who is charged with murder and burglary in the death on Sunday of Doris Richardson, who was found dead in her home on Friday afternoon.
Police were very tight-lipped about the case through the weekend as officers stood guard at the victim's home. The Alabama Department of Forensic Science released autopsy results on Monday, ruling Richardson's death a homicide.
Owens is being held in the Madison County Metro Jail without bond.
Neighbors contacted Richardson's daughter on Friday after Richardson failed to pick up her morning paper.
A police report says more than $1,200 worth of property was missing from Richardson's home.
