Former Auburn University linebacker Quentin Riggins has a new title: Vice president for governmental relations at Alabama Power Co.
The utility says Riggins will take over the position on Thursday.
Aside from playing at Auburn and being a member of the Tigers' broadcast crew for football, Riggins has extensive experience working in state government in Alabama.
Riggins worked for both former House Speaker Seth Hammett and former Gov. Bob Riley, whom Riggins served as director of legislative affairs. He also was a vice president at the Business Council of Alabama before starting his own company last year.
Riggins is a native of Montgomery.
