Jefferson County, Ala. man shot in driveway

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP)
The Jefferson County sheriff's office says a 35-year-old man was fatally shot as he unloaded groceries from his car in his driveway.
Chief Deputy Randy Christian says the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Wednesday in northeast Jefferson County.
Christian says the victim's wife told her son to help his father get the groceries, and the son ran back inside and told his mother that his father was being robbed.
Christian says shots were fired, and the man went inside and told his family he had been shot and needed to go to the hospital.
He was taken to St. Vincent's East, where he later died. Christian says authorities don't know the motive for the shooting.
