Eufaula man murdered

EUFAULA, Ala. -- The Barbour County Sheriff's Office is investigating the murder of a man in the Rocky Mount community.
On Friday August 26, 2011 at 8:36 pm the Barbour County Sheriff's Dispatch received a call from Eufaula Police Department Dispatch in reference to a male that had been brought to the Medical Center-Barbour. The emergency room personal was reporting the male had been brought in by private vehicle and that the victim was deceased.
Sheriff LeRoy Upshaw had Investigator, Lt. David Morris dispatched to Medical Center- Barbour to began an investigation. Sheriff Upshaw, deputies and supervisors went to the Rocky Mount community, attempting to locate the crime scene and suspect(s).
Sheriff Upshaw and deputies located the crime scene in the 700 block of Rocky Mount Church Rd.  Approximately forty five minutes later, a suspect was taken into custody at a different location.
Kenyatta Seats, 22 of 9 Corcoran Rd. Eufaula, AL was pronounced deceased by Coroner Chip Chapman.
A person of interest was located on Rocky Mount Church Rd and was taken into custody by Sheriff Upshaw and deputies.  The subject was transported to the Barbour County Jail.  Sheriff Upshaw stated that Investigator Morris processed the crime scene and is attempting to gather information concerning the murder, but is hampered by the lack of cooperation by possible witnesses.
