Football coaches Nick Saban and Gene Chizik are joining forces to serve as spokesmen for Project Rebound, a state mental health effort that provides counseling and other services to those still dealing with the effects of the April 27 tornado outbreak.
Public service announcements featuring the coaches will begin airing this week.
Project Rebound lends emotional support and other resources in the wake of disasters such as the April tornadoes. State officials said the program, run by the mental health department, started in 2004 after Hurricane Ivan. Hundreds of counselors have been working in counties hit by this year's storms.
Those who need help can also call 1-800-639-REBOUND. Trained counselors are available at the call center 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All services are free and confidential.
