Sept. 11 flag arrives for Ala. officer's funeral

ANNISTON, Ala. (AP)
A flag that flew over the rubble of the World Trade Center after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks has stopped in Anniston on its tour across the country for the funeral of a slain police officer.
The Anniston Star reports (http://bit.ly/nc5kuU ) that the U.S. Honor Flag will be used during the Monday service for Justin Sollohub. The flag arrived Saturday evening after traveling across four states. More than 200 people gathered at the Anniston Police Station to witness the arrival.
Authorities say Sollohub was shot Wednesday during a traffic stop that led to a foot chase. He died of his injuries after 24 hours on life support.
Joshua Russell has been charged with capital murder in the shooting. The 25-year-old was arrested after an eight-hour manhunt.
