Man booked into the Henry County Jail on charges of Attempted Murder and Attempting to Elude.

Abbeville, Al.
Mike Culver, 23 has been booked into the Henry County Jail on charges of Attempted Murder and Attempting to Elude.
Abbeville Police were dispatched to Girard Park in reference to a large crowd. Abbeville Police Officer Jermaine Reeves was the first to arrive and shortly thereafter observed a blue Ford Crown Vic drive by and fire gunshots. The blue Crown Vic took off at a high rate of speed and passed Officer Reeves who advised Abbeville Communications and Police Officer Colt Ludlam of what had he had observed and reported seeing a handgun.
.As Officer Reeves was reporting the activity the suspect Crown Vic passed Officer Ludlam who pursued  it.  The pursuit proceeded about two miles toward State Hwy. 10.
The suspect bailed out of the vehicle on Columbia Road near the Henry County Jail.  Officer Ludlam took off on foot pursuit and chased him to the fenced area of the Henry County Jail where he was caught and taken into custody.
The Officers back-tracked the suspects travel from the point of apprehension and recovered a firearm that was believed to have been thrown out by the suspect.
The Investigation has been turned over to the Henry County Task Force.
Bail has not been set at this time.
