Second Annual Barbour County Pet Parade seeking participants

The Humane Society of Barbour County will host its second Pet Parade on Saturday, October 8, 2011 as part of Indian Summer Days Festival.  This is an opportunity for kids and adults to dress themselves, his/her pet, and his/her bike, tricycle, wagons or strollers in colorful ways.  The Humane Society of Barbour Country will reward participants for his/her creativity and artistic ability as we celebrate the Humane Society’s Barbour County shelter.
Humans must sign up by sending the registration form to The Pet Parade c/o Main Street, Inc., 333 E. Broad St., Eufaula, Al  36027.  Waiver/release forms are at Eufaula Barbour County Chamber of Commerce.  Registration is $10.
All registered participants need to be at the registration table from 8:30 – 9:00 a.m. at the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce on Broad Street.  Each will receive his/her number and “pooper-scooper”.  All participants are responsible for his/her pet’s excrement.  Judging of categories will be @ 9:15 a.m.  Awards will be given @ 9:45 a.m.  First place winners in each category will be recognized with Ribbons.  Best Overall will receive a trophy. The participant line-up will begin @ 9:50 a.m. with the parade beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Grand marshals of this year’s parade will be Jodie Cook Owens and Callie Deloach Peak.
