Mobile police investigate afternoon homicide in Burma Hills area, Suspect sought

MOBILE, Alabama 


Mobile police are investigating the shooting death ofa 26-year-old man this afternoon in a southwest Mobile neighborhood, spokeswoman Ashley Rains said.Rains identified the victim as Michael Hunter. She said police were sent to Burma Road and Burma Hills Road about 2:45 p.m. to investigate the report of a man shot.
Hunter was taken to Mobile Infirmary West with a gunshot wound to the chest and died of his wounds shortly afterward.
Late tonight, police broadcast a bulletin seeking Antonio Santel Kidd, 24, for questioning in connection with Hunter's death.

St. Dominic's School, about 2 blocks east of the shooting scene, was placed on lockdown briefly just as students were about to be dismissed for the day, according to Father Jim Cink of St. Dominic's Parish.
Burma Road is also home to Kate Shepard Elemtary School, about a quarter-mile east of St. Dominic's. It was not immediately known whether Kate Shepard was placed under lockdown as well.
